Redbull Big Wave Africa Surf Event has gone into HIBERNATION we are unsure when the next event will take place.

When Dungeons was discovered and surfed all those years ago – history says 1984 by Pierre De Villiers and Peter Button – few people would have been able to envisage what the future held for this big wave surf spot. What came about was nine years of the best big wave surfers in the world and in South Africa riding her massive waves.

During those nine years of Red Bull Big Wave Africa there were some terrible wipe-outs and some of the best big waves ridden in the world. Red Bull looked after the culture of big wave riding in South Africa. Local surfers were empowered to become the best safety crew in the world.

More recently, some of the legitimate biggest waves in the world have been ridden. Dungeons has been breaking for centuries, and Red Bull has had a relationship with her for 9 years. It’s been a good relationship.

For those who are interested in watching the event on the water...

On the day of the event we do offer trips to the public to go view.

Tickets will cost R100pp.

The length of the trip will be determined on the length of the events sessions.

Unfortunately we can not hold bookings as there is no certainty as to when the event will take place, its all up to nature to decide!

You can keep up to date on the Offical Redbull BWA website. When the Green Light comes on you can call to make a booking or hurry down to the harbour so you don't miss the boat!

Please realise that a boat trip on this day will not be for the faint hearted! The conditions are very rough and we are generally on the water for a long space of time. Even for people who think they are fine on boats...you have been warned!
